Online drumming and percussion course

Ion Delić s.p. is a Slovenian percussionist and composer and a student at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. He previously studied at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Maribor under Martin Bajde and at the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana under Simon Klavžar.

Since 2026, he has offered an online drumming and percussion course for both young and adult students with different levels of previous musical experience.

Lessons take place exclusively online, which means they are available to students throughout Slovenia as well as abroad. Lesson times are arranged individually, while the content is adapted to each student’s current level, goals and musical interests.

Ion Delić teaches a range of musical subjects, including:

• drums, marimba, vibraphone and other percussion instruments,
• piano,
• music theory and ear training,
• improvisation and composition,
• arranging and repertoire development.

Online drum and percussion lessons

Ion bases his teaching on each student’s current level of knowledge. The lessons are therefore suitable for complete beginners as well as more advanced musicians who want to improve their technique, expand their repertoire or focus more closely on a specific musical area.

In percussion lessons, he teaches a range of instruments and approaches, from contemporary to classical percussion. One of the main areas of his own musical work is the marimba, where students can also focus on developing new repertoire and adapting piano literature for this instrument.

Students can also choose to book just one introductory lesson as part of the online drum or percussion course, and then decide, based on their experience and goals, whether they would like to continue.

Drum and percussion lessons for children and adults

The online drum and percussion course is suitable for different age groups. For children, playing percussion can support the development of rhythm, coordination, motor skills and concentration, while also introducing them to music in a creative way.

Adults can also begin without any previous musical experience. The programme is adapted to their starting point, so age or lack of earlier music training is not in itself an obstacle to beginning.

For more advanced students, Ion can provide more focused support in the development of technique and repertoire, musical interpretation and other areas they would like to improve.

The teaching is not limited to practical instrumental playing. Ion also teaches music theory, helping students deepen their understanding of musical structure, harmony and analysis.

In ear training, he focuses on the systematic recognition of musical elements and musical dictation. In improvisation, students are encouraged to develop creative musical expression, while in composition he helps them develop their own ideas and become familiar with fundamental compositional approaches. He also teaches arranging and piano.

Ion is also the recipient of several awards. Among other achievements, he won the Opole International Marimba Competition in Poland in 2023, and in 2024 he received 2nd prize at the Majaoja International Percussion Competition in Tampere, Finland. He now shares his extensive knowledge with other musicians through individual online lessons.
